Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review

Hi Lovelies,

It is that time again, another product review.

Today I will be reviewing the widely loved – Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I have heard so much about this palette and there was a lot of buzz surrounding it’s release.

Well, my verdict… I love it. The are a few main points as to why this palette is worthy of all it’s hype.

The colour range that you get in Naked 2 palette is amazing. Of course it goes to say as with any Urban Decay eyeshadows, they are very pigmented. The eyeshadows go on well, they have a great texture and can be easily applied. They blend very easily and because of this you can really achieve a flawless look. The colour range is very complementary, there are many shades that can be used as a highlight under your brow bone and in the inner corners of your eyes. There are also plenty of shades that can be used on the entire lid and a lot of them can be mixed to create a more subtle or dramatic look. And lastly the all important shades that create the smokey eye, from browns to a matte black, they are all there.

When I use this palette, I am able to create many different looks. You can easily go from day to night and create a look for any special occasions.

The packaging is also very good with this palette, it is sturdy and the colours stay put. It also comes with a dual brush in case you are low on brushes in your collection.

My overall rating is 8.5/10 – I really enjoy using this palette, the colours, texture and pigments are amazing. The eyeshadows also have great longevity and last all day and night.

I love using Tease on the crease of my eyelid to blend out a smokey eye, Foxy as a highlight colour under my brow bone and YDK for smoking out your bottom lash line.

Have a look at my Bold lip using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette on my makeup channel on youtube, makeupbydulcelissa.

I hope this inspires you to create more bold and stunning looks. It is always fun to try new and exciting products, there is no right and wrong way of doing things, just what ever works for you.

Have a great day and remember stay sweet xoxo

Edgy Floral Outfit Post!

Hi Lovelies,

I thought I would share with you a recent look I put together while filming my recent makeup tutorial. This look uses two very different styles, but somehow when put together they are a match made in heaven! The look is something in between a floral girlie style with a grunge edge.

The top is gorgeous and is from H&M, it is floral and has black panels on the sides and around the collar. Another beautiful feature of this top is the back, it has buttons all the way down, this adds to the feminine style of it. I decided to make this look more edgy and paired the top with my Portmans leather skinny pants and my Tony Bianco patent black heels.

I went simple with the accessories and wore a silver cuff from Lovisa, a grogoues silver and turquoise ring my sister got for me from Venice Beach LA and my Tiffany and Co silver ball earrings.

The makeup also made this look more bold and edgy, with the dark lipstick NARS Damned lip pencil and the cool browns and greys on my eyes. I used the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and the Too faced Naked Eye Palette. I finished off the look with Mac Cosmetics blush in peaches and highlighted my face with Mac’s Soft and Gentle highlighting powder.

I was so excited about this look and I will definitely wear this on a night out.

I loved this look, the combination of naughty and nice worked so well together, opposites do attract! I hope this inspires you to place different styles together and create a standout look for any occasion.

Enjoy my fellow fashion and makeup addicts and remember stay sweet xoxo

Wedding Night – Outfit Post

Hi Lovelies,

I recently went to a wedding and wanted to show you all my look that I was rocking.

I went hell for leather with this chic edgy look!

The dress is so on trend and was such great value. I bought it on sale from Target, can you believe! I added black strappy shoes from Novo and went for gold accessories. My matching necklace and earrings were from Colette and added some contrast and bling to the outfit.

I went all out with my makeup and wanted to pop and create drama. I used Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation, paired with Mac Studio Fix powder to set the foundation. I used Mac Gleeful mineralise blush and Fix+ to set my makeup and to give me a dewy look. For my eyes, I used Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and used gold, brown and black colours all blended out. I added a black winged liner and used Benefit they’re real mascara. For the final addition to this look and the one that I was most excited about, I put Mac Ruby Woo lipstick on my lips.

The colour combination of the red lipstick, gold accessories and the black leather dress really worked together. I loved this look and will definitely wear it again.

I hope you enjoyed this outfit post and remember stay sweet xox

Fast Foundation Advice – Tip #2

Hi Lovelies,

Ever wondered what the best method of applying foundation is… well the answer is simple, it is simply a preference and what works well for you. However, here are some key application tips for different methods of applying foundation!

Fingers

Using your fingers works well with liquid and cream foundation formulas. It can also provide you with the sheerest cover, as the warmth of your hands helps to melt the base onto your skin.

Tip – Make sure your fingers are clean

Sponges

Sponges provide more coverage and are good for blending cream to powder or thicker liquid foundations.

Tip – When applying foundation with a sponge, tap, don’t rub the base into your skin. This will ensure you have an even finish

Foundation brush

A foundation brush gives you a heavier, more velvety finish, because you are painting on a liquid or cream base. This is ideal if you are going for a flawless polished look.

Tip – Make sure you clean your foundation brush regularly

My Favourite method off applying foundation is using a foundation brush.

My most loved product is the Sigma Flat Kabuki Brush F80. To see how it applies foundation, watch my youtube makeup videos on my channel MakeupbyDulcelissa.
