It has been a long long time. Soo sorry, life has been super busy!

I wanted to share with you my favourite primer products and emphasize why it is so important to use a primer before makeup application.

Using a makeup primer is the best way to make your makeup stay on for longer. Their aim is to prepare the skin for the makeup application, they pamper the skin and create a protective base for longer- lasting, natural looking foundation application and wear. Primers give the makeup something to grab onto and help your makeup last longer, because they create a smooth and perfect surface. A primer is something you put on as a barrier between your skin and foundation. the reason for using a primer is that it makes your skin smoother and you don’t need as much foundation to get a beautiful finish.

Benefit thePOREfessional, it minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup.

 

Tip: I use thePOREfessional on my skin alone for days when I do not want to wear any makeup, it even outs my skin tone and makes my pores appear smaller.

Benefit dr.feelgood, this primer mattifies shine, the weightless balm leaves your skin feeling silky-soft. Fabulous for mid-day touch-ups. It can be worn alone, under or on top of makeup. This primer is great if you are prone to oiley skin.

Tip: Reapply with a sponge for instant mid-day mattification that’s better than blotting papers! Works best when pressed onto the skin in a patting motion.

Mac Prep and Prime skin, is an ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicones. It calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. It improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder.

Top 3 Makeup tips for blue eyes!

Hi Lovelies,

For all my blue eyed beauties, here are my top 3 tips to having fabulous blue eyes!

1. Pick the right eyeshadow – For the office, stick with brown, rose, lavender and neutral shades. For a special date, try metallics in silver and gold, turquoise and icy pink shades.

2. Experiement for the evening – For the evening, try a smokey eye look using grey, dark blue or purple shades.

A dark blue shade will bring out the natural blue tones in blue eyes, try dark blue shades combined with black shades for that wow factor.

3. Tone down your lips – Emphasize your gorgeous blue eyes, whether they are pale blue or deep sapphire, by toning down your lip color. Pick a matte lipstick in a peachy brown shade. For your cheeks, add a light sweep of blush in a very natural hue.

Edgy Floral Outfit Post!

Hi Lovelies,

I thought I would share with you a recent look I put together while filming my recent makeup tutorial. This look uses two very different styles, but somehow when put together they are a match made in heaven! The look is something in between a floral girlie style with a grunge edge.

The top is gorgeous and is from H&M, it is floral and has black panels on the sides and around the collar. Another beautiful feature of this top is the back, it has buttons all the way down, this adds to the feminine style of it. I decided to make this look more edgy and paired the top with my Portmans leather skinny pants and my Tony Bianco patent black heels.

I went simple with the accessories and wore a silver cuff from Lovisa, a grogoues silver and turquoise ring my sister got for me from Venice Beach LA and my Tiffany and Co silver ball earrings.

The makeup also made this look more bold and edgy, with the dark lipstick NARS Damned lip pencil and the cool browns and greys on my eyes. I used the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and the Too faced Naked Eye Palette. I finished off the look with Mac Cosmetics blush in peaches and highlighted my face with Mac’s Soft and Gentle highlighting powder.

I was so excited about this look and I will definitely wear this on a night out.

I loved this look, the combination of naughty and nice worked so well together, opposites do attract! I hope this inspires you to place different styles together and create a standout look for any occasion.

Fashion Friday Outfit post – Comedy Club Melbourne CBD

Hi Lovelies,

I thought I would share with you my fashion friday, outfit  post!

Friday after work I stayed back in the city and watched a comedy show with my husband and some friends, so of course I put together a fun outfit that was fun and comfortable.

I decided to wear my new favourite H&M top which my mum recently bought me from her trip to the States, it’s a gorgeous pink colour and has gold stud detailing, I paired my top with my black jeans from GAP and my tan/camel suede ankle boots from Sandler.

For accessories, I wore my guess watch, my Tiffany and Co bracelet and mesh earrings.

For my makeup, I used some new exciting products and opted for a dewy look with girlie pink lips. I wore Mac cosmetics Snob lipstick, which I love, it is a beautiful pink shade. I also had on my Chanel perfection lumiere foundation, orgasm blush from NARS and soft and gentle highlighter from Mac. I used my new Too Faced, Naked Eye palette and opted for pink and grey hues on my eyes.

The look was so fun and girlie, with the combination of pink from my H&M shirt and my Snob coloured lips.

Sneak peak tutorial Bold Lip makeup look

Hello to all my fellow makeup and fashion addicts!

I am so excited to share with you all my upcoming tutorial on my makeup channel. The next video is sure to inspire you with your own take on a bold lip makeup look.

I was inspired by a recent purchase of bold lipstick colours. I used an amazing product NARS velvet matte lip pencil in Damned. I paired the look with beautiful brown and grey tones, using my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and my Too Faced Naked Eye Palette. I paired the look with flawless skin, peach blush and a dramatic winged eyeliner. All the products used will be listed in the video.

I was also influenced to create this look by a beautiful H&M top that my mum recently bought for me from the states. I will be posting the photos of the complete outfit soon.

Having a bold lip is something that is very new to me. I must admit that most of my lip colours were pink, nude and very pale tones. So I recently went out and bought some dramatic lip colours,

This look is bold and gorgeous at the same time. I know that this will inspire you all to try new bold lip colours.

Fast Foundation Advice – Tip #1

Hi Lovelies,

Foundation is probably one of the most important steps in creating a flawless look, so applying an undetectable base is the first step!

Here are some simple tips to ensure you make the right choices.

Tips:

If you’re shopping at a department store

#1 – Swipe three possible matches on your lower cheek or jawline (the shade should closely match your neck as well as your face)

#2 – Take a mirror and head towards a window or outside so you can see what it looks like in the natural light (very important)

#3 – The colour that fades into your skin without .much blending is the winner

If your shopping at a drug store/chemist 

#1 – Determine whether your skin tone is pale/medium or dark

#2 – Using your skin tone, use the bottle shade name as a guide

#3 – Pale skin tends to have redness, so it’s best that you stay away from pink-tonned foundation, look for colours like beige or buff to neutralise redness

#4 – If you are in the middle/medium look for tones that have warm undertones. Choose colours like warm , medium or golden.

#5 – Dark skin hues should look for colours like tan, sable or chestnut

Remember these handy hints next time you are looking for the right foundation. Be sure to keep in mind that the right foundation does not mask your face but simply blends out any of your imperfections and still shows the true beauty of your skin.
