Too Faced – Naked Eye palette review

Hi Lovelies,

It has been a very long time! I have so much to talk about, so here is another product review for you all.

I am so excited to be sharing with you all my comments on the Too Faced, Naked Eye palette. I was so excited when I got this palette and it has not disappointed me one bit.

Lets face it, every girl should own a neutral eye palette that suits her skin tone and eye colour, and ladies this is one that will definitely be worth it. I love using this palette for those busy days when I don’t have time for heavy blending, however don’t be fooled this palette can create some gorgeous dramatic looks worthy of any special occasion.

The colour range that you get in the Too Faced, Naked Eye palette is amazing. The eyeshadows are gorgeous, some of the shades are pigmented, they are all true to what they look like in the pan and are so wearable. You can use the shadows in the suggested ways that are shown in the palette, but I find that because the colours are so complementary I am able to try different colour combinations that have a stunning effect. Many of the shades can be used as a highlight under your brow bone and in the inner corners of your eyes. Basically, all the shades in this palette are so versatile and you can achieve any look using these neutral but dramatic shades. The eyeshadows go on easy, they have a great texture and can be easily applied. They blend very easily and because of this you can really achieve a flawless look.

The packaging is so cute, it is sturdy and the colours stay put. It also comes with three handy cards that give you complete eye looks using this palette.

My overall rating is 9.5/10 – I really enjoy using this palette, the colours, texture and pigments are amazing. It is my go to palette and I use it for almost every look.

I hope this inspires you to think more about neutral shades and to use them in your everyday or evening looks.

Have a great day and remember stay sweet xoxo

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review

Hi Lovelies,

It is that time again, another product review.

Today I will be reviewing the widely loved – Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I have heard so much about this palette and there was a lot of buzz surrounding it’s release.

Well, my verdict… I love it. The are a few main points as to why this palette is worthy of all it’s hype.

The colour range that you get in Naked 2 palette is amazing. Of course it goes to say as with any Urban Decay eyeshadows, they are very pigmented. The eyeshadows go on well, they have a great texture and can be easily applied. They blend very easily and because of this you can really achieve a flawless look. The colour range is very complementary, there are many shades that can be used as a highlight under your brow bone and in the inner corners of your eyes. There are also plenty of shades that can be used on the entire lid and a lot of them can be mixed to create a more subtle or dramatic look. And lastly the all important shades that create the smokey eye, from browns to a matte black, they are all there.

When I use this palette, I am able to create many different looks. You can easily go from day to night and create a look for any special occasions.

The packaging is also very good with this palette, it is sturdy and the colours stay put. It also comes with a dual brush in case you are low on brushes in your collection.

My overall rating is 8.5/10 – I really enjoy using this palette, the colours, texture and pigments are amazing. The eyeshadows also have great longevity and last all day and night.

I love using Tease on the crease of my eyelid to blend out a smokey eye, Foxy as a highlight colour under my brow bone and YDK for smoking out your bottom lash line.

Have a look at my Bold lip using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette on my makeup channel on youtube, makeupbydulcelissa.

I hope this inspires you to create more bold and stunning looks. It is always fun to try new and exciting products, there is no right and wrong way of doing things, just what ever works for you.

Have a great day and remember stay sweet xoxo

Urban Decay Ammo Palette Review

Urban Decay Ammo Palette

Urban Decay Ammo Palette

Hi Lovelies,

It’s that time again, product review! Today I will be talking about the re -released Ammo Palette from Urban Decay.

I must admit, when I saw this palette I thought wow, look at those pigmented shadows and immediately knew I could have some fun. I was a little worried that they would be too glittery, but honestly this is not the case.

The Ammo palette includes Urban Decay’s best selling eyeshadows, which are: Smog (deep coppery bronze shimmer), Mildew (mossy green shimmer with gold shift), Oil Slick (black matte with silver micro-glitter), Last Call (metallic plum shimmer), Chopper (copper shimmer with silver micro-glitter), Maui Wowie (metallic golden beige shimmer with silver glitter), Shattered (turquoise shimmer with a gold shift), Polyester Bride (white snow shimmer with silver micro-glitter),Grifter (sheer lavender shimmer with silver micro-glitter), and Sin (champagne shimmer).

These eyeshadows are part of Urban Decays usual colour range, however the formula has recently been improved. The colours are very build-able, with my swatches, I packed the colour on so you could see the true pigments. Based on that, it is up to you how far you want to go with the eyeshadow colours.

However, I will say this, when applying the shadow there is quite a bit of fall out, so when you are done you will need to go over the under eye area. This is not a deal breaker for me, I think that this is to be expected when you have amazing colours like these in the Ammo palette and not to mention the price.

In my opinion this is fantastic, fun and creative palette, in which every girl can enjoy themselves and create gorgeous looks that they would not usually dream of. Urban Decay have such fun palettes and I feel that the Ammo palette is one for those special occasions or when you want to add some wow to your makeup look.

This palette can also accommodate women of any age group. My mum and sister actually choose this for me as a gift. And I recall my mum saying that she loved the colours and would wear them herself.

The pigments are amazing, the texture is smooth and buttery and longevity is also good, I think this also has to do with the excess fallout when applying, this makes the eyeshadow last longer.

My overall rating: 7/10 – Urban Decay did it again and created a gorgeous palette for every woman.

I hope this helps lovelies, have a great day and remember stay sweet xoxo

Product Review – Eyebrows

Hi Lovelies,

So I have recently been reviewing different eyebrow products to fill in my brows.

Just to give you some context, my brows are medium in colour and quite sparse at the front, but overall do not need to be filled in too much.

Some of you may be thinking, I have never filled in my brows before! But as the saying goes, your eyebrows really do frame your face and complete any makeup look.

But beware! When filling in your brows, be slight with your hand and use upward stroking motions, almost flicking the product onto your brow. This will make sure the look is more natural and not so harsh. Always use a makeup spoolie to blend the product through your brows.

Applied the right way, a perfect brow will give you that wow!

So, here is my review on three products I have used for my brows:

Chanel – Crayon Sourcils Sculpting eyebrow pencil in #30
Overal rating: 7/10

Chanel states that this eyebrow pencil is the ideal way to groom your eyebrows. The soft, smoothly textured pencil applies easily, shapes and shades perfectly and stays put for long-wearing, natural definition.

Texture: 8/10 Pigment: 7/10 Longevity: 7/10 Application: 7/10

Overall, I like the colour of the pencil, I think that it is very natural and the texture makes application easy. I will say this though, using a pencil is easy after practice but at first the look can be quite harsh, this is why this duel pencil has a makeup spoolie on the other end so you can drag the product through the brow and blend it out afterwards. The only negative point is that this pencil does get used quite fast and because it is a little expensive this may not suit everyone. However when this runs out, I will definitely be purchasing another one!

Benefit Cosmetics – Brow Zings, Brow shaping kit (tone medium)                                            Overall rating: 8/10

This kit comes with everything you need to to create clean, smooth and perfect brows. There is a setting wax and soft pigmented shadow. Benefit claims that if you mix the wax and powder together  you will get more colour payoff!

Texture: 8/10 Pigment: 8/10 Longevity: 8/10 Application: 8/10

I like this kit, it really does have everything you need. Along with the wax and shadow, it also has two little brushes and a small pair of tweezers. When purchasing this I was advised that this product will last a while and is better value for money than a pencil. I will have to wait and see if this claim is true. The texture is interesting, the combination of wax, with the shadow is weird at first, but once you get used to how it needs to be applied it works so well. The product lasts a long time and its application is very easy. I personally, love this product and will purchase it again. However I will say this, it does make your brows quite defined and strong, so if you are not too keen on this look, I would suggest being very slight and using a makeup spoolie to blend the product through.

NYX Eyebrow Push-Up Bra                                                                                                                             Overall Rating: 6.5/10

NYX claims that this dual-sided pencil will deliver sensual eyebrows in just a few minutes. The universally flattering colour fills in your arches and the highlighter lifts and brightens your eyes.

Texture: 6/10 Pigment: 7/10 Longevity: 6/10 Application: 7/10

For this review, I will be focusing on the side that colours in your brows only. However I will say this, the more exciting part of this product is the highlighter side and this is the primary reason I purchased the pencil. When I bought this pencil, my expectation was not so high for the side that fills in your brows, as it is a universal colour, I felt that this may not work for me, well was I surprised, NYX was right! The colour is flattering and worked well blending into my brows. One negative point, is as the pencil is quite large you need a bigger sharpener (which I will need to purchase) and its makes application a little difficult at first, but if you are used to using product on your brows, you should be okay with it. This is still a good product, but not my favourite from the three of them. I would buy this again, but more for the highlighter side. For anyone that is interested I purchase my NYX products from http://www.crushcosmentics.com.au

I hope you have all enjoyed this review, this is my unbiased opinion and I really wanted to share with you all my experiences with products I had recently used. If you have never filled in your brows, maybe this may change your mind and if you do fill in your brows and would like some recommendations, then I hope this helps and gives you an idea of what other products are out there.
